Time to dust off your dancing shoes, it’s our first birthday and we’re throwing a party! To celebrate a great first year we’ve put together a smashing line-up of bands that’ll be followed, as ever, by a playlist of punk, hardcore, indie and nostalgia.
We really appreciate every effort that’s been made by people who’ve come down to support Hello Bastards, whether for a specific trip or just sticking around in the awesome Santiago Bar to hear what’s being played.
Things will be starting around 8pm, with bands playing through to 11pm, when the tunes start spinning. We’ll be around with a donation tin to help cover travel costs for the bands so bare this in mind. Anything given is highly appreciated.
Otherwise, this is a free entry show + clubnight at Santiago Bar in the Grand Arcade in central Leeds. We’re gonna have a classy time with:
CALVINBALL (North-West)
Gee-wiz do we love Calvinball, a pivotal band for Hello Bastards celebrating a return to regular-ish activity for the first time in a year. Famous for, amongst other things: leaving equipment in taxis, playing Fest with only ¼ members & Matt’s love of wrestling, we’ve wanted them to play since HB#1, so it seems appropriate that they’ve made it for the anniversary. Let’s have another drink or two…
FFO: Dillinger Four, Jawbreaker, CM Punk.

LEAGUES APART (Manchester)
Party-loving 4-piece hot off the back of high profile support shows with The Bouncing Souls & Red City Radio. Oozing boozey rhythms and energetic vocalists, they’ll shred through their melodic punk rock in-between hilarious™ stage banter. They’re good.
FFO: Red City Radio, The Lawrence Arms, Bruce Campbell.

ONSIND (Durham)
Prior to their second US tour, ONSIND return to Leeds after being away for aaages. This Durham two-piece capture a campfire spirit with their unique acoustic sound, cheeky charm & socially-progressive discourse. Essentially, two shy guys bringing unifying sing-alongs to the punx.
FFO: Ghost Mice, Spraynard, Equal Rights.
RICKETY SHIP (Leeds/Texas)
DIY drunk n’ roll duo from the unlikeliest ends of the earth of Scunthorpe and Texas. Raw guitars, pounding drums and gnarly vocals combine in songs about riding bikes and livin’ easy.
FFO: ZZ Top, Sailor Jerry’s, Hank Williams III.
We are playing this, can’t wait!
